Entering Notes in the User Interface

Experience Level:  All Levels

What is a Note?  A short (one to two line) description relevant for a specific machine, which is visibly flagged by note type on a machine timeline.  A note may also include attached document(s).  With Note, users can store trending, imaging, and numerical and textual data in one secure location that can be accessed anytime from anywhere.

Why is This Article Worth Reviewing:  Entering Notes in the machine timeline is a fast and effective way to:

  • Capture “what” and “why” changes in machine behaviour occurred,

  • Provide a complete picture to others when they see new machine patterns emerging,

  • Share “tribal knowledge” amongst the team of problem areas and likely resolutions, and

  • Identify who solved problems in the past, to capture their learning.

What This Article Covers:  This article covers the basics in how to enter a note relevant to a specific machine and point in time, how to capture other relevant information pertinent to a machine, and how to access historic notes and files on the timeline.

Overview:

  1. Simply use your cursor to “right click” on a sensor vibration or temperature trend line,
